The Environmental Justice Scholars is a new initiative to provide students with opportunities to collaborate with community partners to act as stewards of environmental justice.

In accordance with the requirements of the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education, students who are seeking middle school certification (grades 4-8) need to major in one of the following areas:

The minor in Environmental Studies at Loyola University New Orleans requires 21 hours of coursework. Students are required to take two foundations courses. In addition, students are required to complete five (5) different courses equaling 15 semester hours from the following three course areas: Natural Sciences, Social Science, and Humanities. Two courses (6crs) must be taken in the Natural Sciences area, and three courses (9crs) in the Humanities & Social Sciences area.
