Criminology & Justice Minors

The Criminology and Justice program offers two minors: Criminology and Justice and Forensic Science.

The minor in Criminology and Justice allows students majoring in other academic disciplines to explore criminal justice as a field of study. The minor in forensic science allows students majoring in other academic disciplines to explore forensic science as a field of study. Learn more about the details of each of these programs below.

Master of Criminology & Justice

​Criminal justice and private security are one of the fastest growing areas in terms of employment, and an advanced degree is becoming a necessity.

The Master of Criminology & Justice online degree program responds to the need for professionally-trained criminal justice administrators, planners and researchers as well as private security professionals. The Master of Criminology & Justice curriculum at Loyola is a 30 credit online program that can be completed in one year. Courses are taught year round.

Bachelor of Criminology & Justice

At Loyola University New Orleans, you’ll study the structure of the justice system, the ethical questions surrounding the imprisonment and rehabilitation process, and the operation of homeland security and the Supreme Court so that you have the tools to make a career out of sustaining justice. This is an evening/online program.

Criminology & Justice Programs of Study

By obtaining a degree in criminology and justice, you will join Loyola graduates who have gone on to careers in federal and governmental agencies around the world, including the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and numerous state and local criminal justice agencies.
