LaSPACE program supports Physics Department's Student Science Project for Balloon Flight
Dr. Anat Burger has secured $12,000 from the LaSPACE program to support the Student Science Project for Balloon Flight. A team of Loyola physics students will design and develop a scientific balloon payload and travel to the Columbia Scientific Balloon Facility, where the payloads will be launched. This program, funded by NASA and administered by LSU, is designed to help students improve the personal and interpersonal skills necessary for career development in many fields, including STEM disciplines. The Physics Department has a record of participating in this program annually and expects it to continue in future years as a vital component of its pre-engineering major.
