Achievements

Rick Parrish, A'98, taught at Loyola University New Orleans, as visiting assistant professor, while earning his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2004.

An obsession with reading and books led Jennifer McKibben '01 to a career in making book collections for companies, movies, celebrities, and others.

Melissa A. Kaintz, an outstanding graduate in Biological Sciences, was recently published in the North American Journal of Fisheries Management.

Dr. Julia D'Antonio-Del Rio, Visiting Assistant Professor of Sociology, has had an article published in the September-October 2010 issue of the Sociological Spectrum.

Dr. Mirya Holman, (2004 Loyola graduate in Political Science and History), recently received her Ph.D from Claremont Graduate University. Mirya is currently teaching at Florida Atlantic University.

Dr. Janet Matthews has been appointed as one of the four delegates from the American Psychological Association to an inter-organizational task force, which will consider the entire training process in professional psychology.

On September 17, 2010 Philip Dynia, Ph.D., gave a talk entitled "In Defense of a Living Constitution" to commemorate Constitution Day.

Dr. Ladd made a panel presentation at the recent symposium on the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill sponsored by the Loyola Law School on September 17, 2010.

French Alum Tom Macom and other Loyola alums start Cirque magazine. Cirque includes news features, fashion features, a section curated by the New Orleans Photo Alliance, and some art, literature
and satire.

Emily Drabek (Physics'09) received a scholarship to join a PhD program at the University of Exeter in UK. Her research interest will be in astrophsics and especially stellar formation.
