Michael Kammer (Phys'12) has received a "Best Presentation" award for his research titled "Study of Macromolecular Complexes" done at the South Bohemia University Institute of Nanotechnology and Structural Biology in the Nove Hrady, Czech Republic.
Armin Kargol, Assoc. Professor in Physics has received an NSF grant for a project titled "Towards wireless nano-electrostimulation of ion channels in mammalian cells". His research will be done in collaboration with Dr. Leszek Malkinski from the Advanced Materials Research Institute at UNO.
Dr. Patricia Dorn, Professor of Biological Sciences at Loyola University New Orleans, was awarded a 5-year NSF/NIH Ecology and Evolution of Infectious Disease grant "Modeling disease transmission using spatial mapping of vector-parasite genetics and vector feeding patterns" for $568,343.

Tom Gibbs ’09 (history), special projects historian at the National World War II Museum in New Orleans, La., has traveled around the country interviewing the remaining World War II veterans and then taking those oral histories and implementing them in various capacities at the museum.
