Dr. Leopoldo Tablante presented at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington D.C. about Mambo and fashion trends in the USA in the 1950s.

In May, 2012 Dwayne Fontenette was selected as one of the twenty-five premier members of the Loyola Aurum Society. This award recognizes the success of junior and senior students who have shown exemplary leadership and have maintained high academic standards.
