Achievements

Adil H. Khan, recently appointed Assistant Professor of Islamic Studies in the Department of Religious Studies, spoke on Islamic Law at the University of Mississippi.

Alexander Watters, a Junior Psychological Sciences major, recently presented a poster at the 14th Annual Meeting for the Society of Social and Personality Psychology in New Orleans, LA.

Dr. Talukdar's article titled "Gender, Class Aspirations, and Emerging Fields of Bodywork in Urban India" will be published in the March 2013 issue of the journal Qualitative Sociology.

Ashley is an Account Coordinator for a company new to New Orleans, The Food Group. Based in New York, The Food Group is a full-service marketing and communications agency in the food & beverage industries.

Izabela Gasparri will travel to Haiti for an important service mission.

Dr. Judith Gruber will present a paper to the Catholic Theological Society of America in June 2013.

Advertising student Eddie Schneider participated in a voyage around the Atlantic rim last fall. He sailed aboard the MV Explorer with more than 600 students, faculty and crew. The ship sailed to 14 countries in Europe, Africa, and South America in 107 days. 

The Public Relations Association of Louisiana recognized Loyola University New Orleans professor Cathy Rogers, Ph.D., as the 2012 State Educator of the Year in public relations.

Dr. Lawrence Lewis, Psychological Sciences, received the Faculty Senate Excellence in Teaching Award at the January 2013 President's Convocation for faculty and staff.

Dr. MacGregor, Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology, is awarded a 2013 Marquette Faculty Fellowhip for her project "School's Out Forever: The Decline of Catholic Education in the United States."
