On November 6, 2012, election day, Dr. Sean Cain will present his research entitled "Better Know a District: Population Change, Pollsters, Parties, and Political Representation in the 2010 U.S. House Elections."

On Friday, October 26, 2012 POLS Major, Martin Quintero, prepared Venezuelan cuisine for an International Student Association (ISA) event. The ISA is an organization that works to foster cultural understanding, combat stereotypes and promote diversity on Loyola's campus.

Erika del Pilar Burton '09 presented a paper entitled "Women's Empowerment and Social Spending in New Democracies in Latin America" at the 2012 Midwest Political Science meeting in Chicago.

Don Hauber, Ph.D., professor of biological sciences, has published a review article "Moving from a regional to a continental perspective of Phragmites australis invasion in North America" in the online journal AoB Plants.

On October 30, 2012, Dr. Natasha Bingham and POLS major, Marlee Clayton, present research entitled, "The Impact of Economic Downturns on Parental Leave Discourses in the European Union."

Mirya Holman, Ph.D., '04 received her Ph.D. from Claremont Graduate University in American Politics and Public Policy and her BA from Loyola University New Orleans in Political Science and History.
