Loyola Neuroscience Alumna Megan Stempkovski Accepted into Ph.D. Program at UMMC
Megan Stempkovski is an alumna who graduated from Loyola University in May of 2025 with a degree in neuroscience. Earlier this year, she was accepted into the Ph.D. program in Neuroscience at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where she is now actively pursuing her doctoral degree. Her research interests include behavioral neuroscience, behavioral pharmacology, and the underlying mechanisms that link these areas to substance use disorders.
Stempkovski credits the mentorship she received from the Neuroscience Program & Department of Psychological Sciences for making her Ph.D pursuit possible. She hopes to provide that same mentorship to former classmates as they begin their graduate school journey.
