Dr. Victoria Laugalis recently published an article in the April 2026 issue of the JustSouth Journal through Loyola's Jesuit Social Research Institute. The piece contributes meaningfully to important conversations surrounding justice, equity, and structural reform, reflecting the kind of mission-driven scholarship that aligns deeply with both Loyola's values and our Department's broader commitment to applied, community-centered work.

The article thoughtfully examines how systemic inequities continue to shape lived experiences across vulnerable communities and offers a strong framework for understanding how policy, institutional accountability, and community engagement must work together to create sustainable change. The work bridges scholarship and practice in a way that is both academically rigorous and directly relevant to contemporary public discourse.

This publication further highlights the strength of our faculty in producing scholarship that extends beyond the classroom and contributes to broader civic and policy conversations throughout New Orleans and beyond. It also reinforces the visibility of Loyola faculty as thought leaders in areas of justice, advocacy, and social transformation.
