Loyola Student, Faculty, and Staff Present Research on Ichthyology and Herpetology

Loyola faculty, students, and alumni attended the Joint Meeting for Ichthyology and Herpetology hosted in New Orleans from July 8th-12th 2026. This meeting was sponsored by local universities and foundations, including Loyola. Faculty served on the local host committee, various societal committees, as judges for student competitions, and as moderators for oral sessions. Students (Lucy McCain, Joseph Medina, Aryanne Sonnier, and Abigail Thomsen) and alumni (Olivia Guerra and Jaden Kinney) gave research presentations coauthored with Drs. Bleicher, Doosey, Earls, Jordan, and Walkowski.  Alum Susan Thomassie received a grant to support her doctoral research at the University of Southern Mississippi.
