At the May 11, 2018 Honors Convocation for the College of Arts & Sciences, three psychology students received department awards.
The Dr. Gerald S. Clack Distinguished Professional Service Award in Psychology was given to Mari Nerbovig (Psychology and Music Therapy double major and Spanish minor).
The Distinguished Student of Psychology Award was given to Rodriana Edwards (Psychology major).
The Dr. Paddy Ann Doll Psychology Senior Academic Achievement Award was given to Todd Loupe (Psychology and Computer Sciences double major).
In April 2018, four students were initiated into the Mu Kappa chapter of the national Spanish honor society, Sigma Delta Pi:

Dr. Kate Yurgil, Assistant Professor in Psychological Sciences, was awarded the 2018 College of Arts and Sciences Excellence in Teaching Award. The award was presented at the Honors Convocation ceremony held on May 11, 2018.

The Environment Program
Hope Clark, ENVS won the Most Outstanding Environment Major Service Award - given to an environment major for excellence in service.
Adrienne Ingram, ENVB won the Most Outstanding Environment Major Research Award - given to an environment major for excellence in research.
Leigh Adrienne Ingram, known on campus as Adrienne, graduates cum laude on Saturday with a double major in environmental science and religious studies (Christianity). At Loyola, she has served as a biological research assistant, assisting with research and managing the university's aquatic ecology lab; she has also worked as a special projects assistant for the Loyola Center for Environmental Communication, where she co-authored two professional presentations. Ingram this year received a Magis grant, designed to foster the Jesuit and Catholic mission of Loyola University New Orleans.
Loyola University New Orleans Journalism Senior Sidney Holmes, a former editor of The Maroon and Executive Producer of The Maroon Minute, was recently selected as one of three graduating seniors from Hearst Television to serve as the 2018-19 Fred Young Hearst Television Producing Fellows.
Hearst Fellows spend 10-weeks at a Hearst Television station learning from leaders and working on projects to help start their career in newscast producing. After completing the program, fellows are offered a full-time producing position with a Hearst Television station.
