Achievements

Dr. Lawrence Lewis, Psychological Sciences, received the Faculty Senate Excellence in Teaching Award at the January 2013 President's Convocation for faculty and staff.

Dr. Erin Dupuis and Dr. Kendall Eskine (pictured with David Garcia and Samantha Montano), Department of Psychological Sciences, presented research at the Association for Psychological Science's 24th Annual Convention in Chicago (May 24-27th, 2012).

Congratulations to Psychological Sciences majors Chelsey Thomas and Amy Sprout whose senior research work won the awards for best undergraduate oral paper presentation and best undergraduate poster presentation in the Social Sciences division of the Louisiana Academy of Sciences (LSA).

Dr. Evan Zucker, professor of Psychological Sciences has been elected the new Vice-President of the Southwest Region of Psi Chi, the International Honor Society for Psychology.

Congratulations to Psychological Sciences major Amy Sprout, whose senior research work won the award for best undergraduate poster presentation in the Social Sciences division of the Louisiana Academy of Sciences (LSA).

Dr. Glenn Hymel was the recipient of two awards at the annual meeting of the American Massage Therapy Association. Dr. Hymel is also the editor of three journals.

Dr. Erin Dupuis, Psychological Sciences, was awarded the University Senate Community Service Award at the January 2012 President's Convocation.

Dr. Janet Matthews has been selected to be the Associate Editor of the journal "Professional Psychology: Research and Practice." This journal is published by the American Psychological Association.

Law firm Burr & Forman LLP announced that associate Kristin Ashworth was recently named The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's "Woman of the Year" for 2011 by the local Mobile Chapter.

Six senior research students recently presented their senior theses at the semi-annual Psychology Undergraduate Research Symposium. The Department of Psychological Sciences congratulates our students for their efforts and success!
