Shaawn B. Ali, D.O. ('08) completed his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree in 2014 from William Carey University in Mississippi. He is now a resident at Family Medicine at Westchester General Hospital in Miami, Florida.
Shaawn writes: When I reflect on my time at Loyola University New Orleans, I am pleased to remember that 'Care for the Whole Person' meant inclusivity and service. In my undergraduate formation I not only engaged in rigorous academics, but worked with the Muslim Student Association, Student Government Association, and various other honor societies that valued my contributions and diverse perspective as a young Muslim man. Loyola was a highly formative component of my faith and academic development. I don't think I would have been able to complete my Doctor in Osteopathic Medicine without the solid foundation provided by those experiences.
