Achievements

Dr. Bernard Cook, Provost Distinguished Professor of History, was invited to deliver a series of lectures on United States foreign policy since the end of the Cold War at univesities in Moldova.

SMC graduate John Deveney, who runs one of the Gulf South's most successful public relation agencies, is to be inducted into the PR News Hall of Fame November 30 at the National Press Club in Washington, DC.

Martha Fitzgerald ’73, Shreveport, La., published A Louisiana River Journal with Skipper Dickson, chronicling Dickson’s 400-river-mile trip across the heart of Louisiana on a 30-year-old houseboat with his fishing buddies. (www.ALouisianaRiverJournal.com and www.marthafitzgerald.com)

Amelia Cronan '83 is currently writing a book and serving as the Research Director of Envision DaBerry. Envision DaBerry is committed to promoting a creative economy in New Iberia by engaging issues of sustainability through public art, design, and civic interaction.

Political Science senior, Sean Hood, currently serves on the board of directors of LUCAP. LUCAP is the Loyola student-led community outreach program.

William F. “Bill” Trammell ’54, 2011 winner of the American Chemical Society’s Helen M. Free Award for Public Service, began volunteering with the National Science Center’s Fort Discovery museum in Augusta, Ga., in 1997.

Suzanne Smith, A'86, works for the Rockefeller Group, a company dedicated to assisting global companies with foreign trade zone feasibility, approval, activation and operational support services as well as related Customs matters.

Dr. Dorn has published nine original research articles in journals such as Public Library of Science -Neglected Tropical Diseases; Infection, Genetics and Evolution; Clinical Infectious Diseases; Heredity, and Journal of Medical Entomology since 2009.

Dr. Egejuru has been a faculty member of the English Department at Loyola since 1988. Not retired and still teaching part-time, she spends most of her time researching and documenting African Oral Tradition.
