Sara Clark, Administrative Assistant to the Department of Religious Studies, won the College of Humanities and Natural Sciences' Staff Excellence Award for academic year 2013-14.

The Hon. Sean O'Keefe '77 (history), a current trustee of Loyola University and former CEO and chairman of Airbus Group Inc., was awarded the 2014 James Forrestal Industry Leadership Medal by the National Defense Industrial Association.

Paul Fleming, Jr., appointed deputy district defender

William Thornton and Dee Wood Harper will be provided a consultation to a group of seven human rights and correctional specialist from the Republic of Uzbekistan on May 6, 2014.  They are here in New Orleans sponsored by the New Orleans Citizen Diplomacy Council (NOCDC) and the U.S. Department of State International Visitor Leadership (IVL) Program. The New Orleans Citizen Diplomacy Council is a nonprofit organization that arranges professional appointments and cultural activities for over 500 international leaders sent to New Orleans annually.

Loyola Alum Receives Practice-Based Research Grant

SMC freshman Colleen Dulle is the 2013-14 Loyola Outstanding First Year Student.  The award honors students for exceptional performance in demonstrating leadership on campus.

Dr. Guy Beck will offer a course entitled, "The Sacred Music of India" at the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat in the Bahamas.

Savannah Logan (Computational Math and Modern Languages and Cultures/Spanish-14) awarded a 2014-15 Fulbright U.S. Student Award to teach English and pursue an independent project in Spain
