Dr. Claire Stelly joined the Department of Psychological Sciences in the fall of 2023. She specializes in behavioral neuroscience and the neurobiology of stress and substance use disorders. Claire is passionate about kindling students' scientific curiosity and helping them develop the habits of mind necessary for rigorous research. Her lab investigates the neural processes by which stressors influence species-specific motivated behaviors in model organisms.
Claire received her B.S. in Neuroscience from Tulane University in 2008 and her PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Texas at Austin in 2016. She has previously worked as a researcher at The University of Texas San Antonio and Tulane University.
