Psychology Alumnus Receives APA Fellowship

David Zelaya, 2012 Loyola Psychology alumnus and current counseling psychology doctoral student at Georgia State University, has been selected to receive the prestigious American Psychological Association's Minority Fellowship. Only 5-7% of the 200 applicants who apply for the fellowship are accepted. David’s professional interests focus on the intersectionality of multiple stigmatized identities with emphasis on sexual and ethnic minorities. He is a member of the American Psychological Association of Graduate Students (APAGS) Committee for the Advancement of Racial and Ethnic Diversity (CARED). He serves as the APAGS liaison to the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs (CEMA), and he is a student member of Divisions 17, 31, 35, 44, and 45.
