Alumna Earns Major NIH Grant

Dr. Karen M. Rodrigue a 1996 Loyola University Psychology alumna, was selected to receive the K99/R00 Pathway to Independence Award. The five-year, two-phase grant totals just under $1 million. It comes from the National Institute on Aging. Dr. Rodrigue is currently a research associate and postdoctorate fellow at the University of Texas at Dallas Center for Brain Health. She has numerous research articles examining the impact of aging on the human brain. Her research will examine whether vascular risk factors (including hypertension and hypoperfusion) contribute to brain aging and to Alzheimer's Disease.
