Alexie (Lexie) Gaddis, junior psychology major from Snellville, Ga., was the recipient of the College Woman of Excellence and Louisiana Women's Caucus Foundation Scholarship. The award includes a $1,000 scholarship and an invitation to an awards banquet in Baton Rouge. The Women’s Caucus created this prestigious award in 2008 to recognize and honor the exemplary achievements and contributions of extraordinary women who personify excellence in their leadership, profession, academics, community service, character and integrity.
Dr. Kim Ernst, who nominated Lexie, says: "I believed she would be strong competition. I also am thrilled that she was selected as the recipient of the award and the scholarship. To my knowledge, and across award categories, Lexie was the only recipient from New Orleans this year. She also is the first Loyola student to win the award and the scholarship." Congratulations, Lexie!
