A student considering "Honors in History" should consult with her or his academic advisor to establish eligibility, discuss program requirements, and begin exploring areas of interest and possible thesis or project topics. Encouraged-- and determined-- to continue, the student should approach the faculty member under whom he or she would be doing the research to discuss the faculty member's interest and availability. During the Early Registration period, the student should register for HIST A498, "HIST HNRS RESEARCH." The course is 1 credit hour, pass/fail.
In the summer between Junior and Senior year, a student should begin preliminary research and begin to focus the topic more narrowly.
