Dr. Basha is a broadly trained physiologist with a research expertise in smooth muscle physiology. Her work as an educator spans across many academic environments including undergraduate liberal art schools, undergraduate nursing school, osteopathic and allopathic medical schools and dental school. In addition to extensive experience teaching physiology to health professional students, she has taught Anatomy and Physiology, Comparative Physiology, and Women’s Biology to undergraduate biology majors and non-majors.
Dr. Basha’s teaching philosophy is rooted in her dedication to teaching as an act of service, to the learner. Her broad experience in education has developed her skill at aligning learning objectives with course content and assessment, coaching students to meet their academic goals, and helping students develop their ability to problem solve and conceptually think. She also tries to find ways to make learning fun and memorable whenever possible. This sometimes leads to bad singing.
She is unapologetically a crazy cat lady with five feline friends (six counting the porch cat), a blind dog, two parakeets, and a newly adopted amazonian parrot. Be prepared to look at pictures.
