History and Classical Studies alum Alexandria Seltenrich began her career in medical software at Madison, Wisconsin-based company Epic in August of last year. Her work’s focus thus far involves improving the business metrics which drive hospitals’ fiscal health and long-term success, developing new functionality for Epic software used in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and enhancing system-based documentation on Patient Confidentiality to ensure each organization achieves the unique privacy setup for its patients while following HIPAA guidelines and internal policy. While Wisconsin is a tad bit chillier than New Orleans, she loves the responsibility and the challenge which her job entails, and continues to be successful with the current install of her two hospitals on the East Coast. She plans to stick with her core focuses of key performance metrics, NICU needs, and Patient Confidentiality, and sees in her career at Epic a long-term, exceptional opportunity to make an impact on healthcare and how Epic’s software is used across the world.
