Biology alumna Ashley Tate has joined the Carter Center and is going in a couple of weeks to South Sudan to work on Guinea worm eradication.
While an undergraduate, Ashley did research with Dr. Patricia Dorn and also studied abroad in El Salvador. After leaving Loyola, she earned a Master's Degree in Microbiology, taught nursing students, then completed a Master's in Public Health at Emory studying Global Health / Infectious diseases. Ashley has also worked at the Center for Disease Control in the Division of Global Disease Detection and Emergency Response (in Atlanta and Nairobi).
