1. Whether originating with student, faculty, or independent research, the studio promotes research agendas designed to lead toward scholarly production. This includes books and articles, documentary shorts and features, as well as online publications. The Studio is not a traditional oral history program in that it does not pursue the open-ended collection of oral histories as a goal in of itself.
2. The studio is committed to 100% completion of all interviews that it records. This means that scholars must agree to have their work transcribed, edited, indexed, and archived.
3. In order to preserve the integrity of the Studio’s commitment to 100% completion and ensure future access to their work, scholars must have a plan for meeting this goal, whether through outside funding or by integrating it into the curriculum.
4. All interviews recorded by the Studio are governed by IRB regulations and all interview subjects must sign IRB “informed consent” forms as well as release forms granting copyright to Loyola University New Orleans. In light of recent legal decisions, the Studio will not record any anonymous interviews.
5. All interviews recorded by the studio will be archived in the Monroe Library’s Department of Archives and Special Collections, subject to access restrictions outlined by the interviewee's informed consent.
6. Cognizant that the interviews it records may be used in the production of documentary features, the studio is committed to maintaining the highest production values possible.
