Dawson McCall is a historian who studies the relationship between sports, education, community development, nation-building, and individual agency in post-colonial Kenya. He holds a Ph.D. in History from Michigan State University and is currently working on a book project titled 'We play, we work, we play': A Social History of a Kenyan High School in Iten, which explores the social, educational, and sports history of St. Patrick's High School, one of Kenya's most prominent sporting and educational institutions. His work can be found in both academic and public forums, such as The International Journal of the History of Sport and Africa is a Country. He is a former Fulbright fellow and an award-winning teacher and coach.
