History student presents paper at Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society Conference

Charles Hollis, a history senior, will represent Loyola University New Orleans at this year's Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society Conference. His paper is entitled "The Plague of Athens and its Effect Upon the Peloponnesian War" and argues that "the Plague of Athens was not simply deleterious to the Athenian war effort, instead it was the crucial element that served to seal Athens’ fate in the war against Sparta." The Phi Alpha Theta Conference will take place on March 26, 2010 at the Holiday Inn Central in Lafayette, Louisiana. Charles will present his paper during the section entitled "Plague, Pestilence, and Panic" from 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.
