History alumni begins work as Special Projects Historian at The National World War II Museum

Thomas Gibbs' job at the museum will entail travelling around the country interviewing the remaining World War Two veterans and then taking those oral histories and implementing them in various capacities at the museum. He says, “Being a history major at Loyola in one of the most historic cities in the world gave me a wonderful opportunity to learn history but also to see history every day. The historical aspects of the city, compounded with the passion of my history professors at Loyola made me realize that pursuing a job in history was in my best interests. I am grateful that Loyola provided and still continues to provide a network of support that will only benefit me as I move on with my career.”

After Thomas graduated from Loyola he enrolled in UNO’s graduate school and will be finishing his Master's degree this fall.
