History Alumna Becomes Vice President of Museum Collections

In October, Maria Estorino will join the History Miami Museum as the Vice President of Museum Collections. In this newly created position, Ms. Estorino will oversee both object and archival collections and the museum's research center with an emphasis on making such collections discoverable and accessible and activating them in support of the museum's mission to tell Miami's stories.

After graduating from Loyola, Ms. Estorino obtained a master's degree in history with a certification in public history from Northeastern University and a master's in library science with a specialization in archival management from Simmons College. For the past 14 years, she has worked in special collections at the University of Miami Libraries, most recently as the Esperanza Bravo de Varona Chair of the Cuban Heritage Collection.
