Mapping and Geospatial Technologies

This course will focus on the science, aesthetics, and techniques associated with geovisualization and cartographic analysis.

Special emphasis will be placed on geospatial technologies (global positioning systems (GPS), geographic information systems (GIS), and remote sensing) that form the basis of modern cartography. The course will include guided lab sessions designed to introduce students to mapping, geovisualization, and cartographic analysis within a GIS environment.
