Major Changes in the Medical Aptitude Exam starting in 2015:
The new MCAT will have four test sections:
1. Molecular, cellular, and organismal properties of living systems.
2. Physical, chemical and biochemical properties of living systems.
3. Social and behavioral sciences principles.
4. Clinical analysis and reasoning skills.
*The composition -now required- will be eliminated
The current test sections are titled:
1. Verbal Reasoning,
2. Physical Sciences (Physics and Inorganic Chemistry)
3. Biological Sciences (Biology and Organic Chemistry)
4. A composition required to be written by the student on the current exam will be eliminated.
To prepare for the MCAT to be given starting in 2015, students need to add the following courses to their college schedule:
1. Statistics,
2. First Semester Biochemistry,
3. Introductory Psychology,
4. Introductory Sociology, and
5. Ethics
