Dr. Robert Jackson, Ph.D., Chair of the Department of Earth System Science at Stanford University, is also a senior fellow with the Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment and the Precourt Institute for Energy, will be lecturing at Loyola University New Orleans. He studies how people affect the earth, including research on the global carbon and water cycles, biosphere/atmosphere interactions, energy use, and climate change.  Dr. Jackson’s team published the first studies examining fracking and drinking water quality and, with colleagues, mapped thousands of natural gas leaks across multiple cities such as Boston and Washington, D.C. He is also examining the effects of climate change and drought on forest mortality and ecosystems.
