Katherine (Katie) Rompf's ecological research has focused on regenerative avian seed dispersal (manakin gut passage effects on seed germination of a small pioneer shrub) in tropical rainforest of Northwestern Ecuador (MS: Tulane University, Karubian Lab) and invasive species ecology of brown widow spiders (BS: Loyola University of New Orleans, Thomas Lab). She is currently the Coordinator of Biology Teaching Laboratories at Loyola University New Orleans, where she also is an adjunct instructor for the laboratory course “Biology of Organisms”. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, birding, gardening, sketching, and relaxing with her rescued cats and parrot.
