Annalisa Sega (BIOL ’17) will be attending the University of Central Florida College of Medicine to pursue a medical degree in August 2018. There, she will be participating in the Focused Inquiry and Research Experience(FIRE) Program, and developing her interests in maternal and neonatal medicine. Over the past year, Annalisa has been employed as a research assistant in the Pediatric Genomics Discovery Program at Yale Health System. She has been instrumental in discovering novel genetic mutations in children with early infantile epileptic encephalopathy. Annalisa recently presented at the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics Annual Meeting in Charlotte, NC, where her abstract was recognized for high distinction, and the Pediatric Academic Societies Meeting in Toronto, Canada. Annalisa’s first author manuscript is currently under review and we look forward to more good news soon!
