On May 5, 2016, the Honors seminar "History of French Fashion" and some of their friends gave an exciting show. According to the program, the show was "a retrospective wink to three iconic French couturiers whose visionary work paved the way for revolutionary changes not only in our wardrobe, but also, in the way we live." More than 230 people attended to see this review of fashion to music. Many thanks to Aveda Institute for hair and make-up, and to the support of Francophilia Foundation, the University Honors Program, and the Department of Languages and Cultures.
Philosophy and Feminism (PHIL U222) provides students with the opportunity to do service learning with one of Loyola's many community partners. Recent alumna Robin Miller did her service learning at Project Lazarus, which provides transitional housing for people in the New Orleans community who have HIV/AIDS. Robin's experience at Project Lazarus was so successful that she was offered an internship there, which she will begin this summer.
