Achievements

Sociology faculty member Angel Parham presented her research entitled, "Race, Memory, and Family History" at the annual meeting of the American Sociological Association.

Daniel J. Kimball, LCSW, '92, presently lives in Lafayette, LA where he conducts his private practice in Clinical Social Work at the Lafayette Psychology Center. 

Julie Hayden Maloney '86, chief executive officer of a national consulting company, recently published her second book, Blueprint to Success, a book to help guide women in the workforce in improving their careers.

Professor Kondkar was awarded a Marquette Faculty Fellowship for the Summer of 2009 for his research, “Intimate Partner Homicide: Exploring the Relationship between Race, Gender, Law and Violence."

Dr. Philip Dynia recently published encyclopedia articles on a variety of areas of constitutional law and judicial politics. He also recently contributed a chapter on the study of political science to a book introducing students to the liberal arts.

Political science students from Loyola University New Orleans' College of Social Sciences presented research findings on ad valorem tax and taxicab policies to the city's Governmental Affairs Committee.

Political Science student Andrea Castillo was honored by the Department of Political Science with the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award for a student minoring in Political Science.

Amye Green was honored by the Department of Political Science with the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award for a student majoring in Political Science on May 10, 2009 in the College of Social Sciences annual awards ceremony. 

Byron Arthur, A'89, works as press secretary/communications director at the Louisiana Department of Revenue and works as a campaign consultant in state and local races.
