Award-winning actor Spud McConnell brought Ignatius Reilly off the page and onto the stage of Nunemaker Auditorium on Thursday, October 14, 2010.

Students, faculty, staff and the community (including a large group of Lusher students) enjoyed a madcap evening as McConnell performed excerpts from A Confederacy of Dunces and discussed his relationship with the novel and the misanthropic protagonist he has brought to life.

Spud also announced the winners of the freshman writing contest.  Congratulations Cameron, Austin, Alec, Savannah, Sarah-Ann, and Beau!  All freshmen who submitted essays deserve congratulations - it was a very difficult decision for the committee.
