School of Nursing faculty recognize the need to prepare nursing leaders who have strong communication skills, particularly strong writing skills. Toward this end, the following policy will be implemented in selected nursing courses throughout the nursing sequence. For each course in which the policy will be used, there will be a notation regarding the policy in the course syllabus.
Prior to submission of a formal paper to faculty in designated courses, each student is required to have the completed paper reviewed by a staff member in the Academic Enrichment Center. Once the paper has been completed, contact the Academic Enrichment Center (504-865-2990; located in Monroe Hall, Room 405) and arrange to meet with or send your paper to a staff member for review. Follow the recommendations for revision of the paper and return it for follow-up if directed to do so. Note: Since this process may take some time, students are urged to begin work on the paper as soon as possible.
