Tami Hotard, a native New Orleanian, became a print journalist contributing to The Maroon as an undergraduate in the early nineties. She earned an English degree at Loyola University of New Orleans, a Master’s degree in English at Oregon State University, and has reviewed countless medical manuscripts, journal articles and texts including Too Many Pills as Managing Editor for the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. She currently teaches English Composition and Literature at Gulf Coast Community College in Panama City, Florida, and even since Katrina, still returns to her home in the Garden District of New Orleans to write and reconnect with family and friends. She is presently working on a thriller about the haunting of Charity Hospital in the aftermath of Katrina.
