Christopher Schaberg, Assistant Professor of English, has been invited to give a talk on airports in American literature this coming October. The theme of this conference is 'Places and Non-places of English.' Scholars from across Scandinavia are invited to submit proposals and present papers that think about how both places and 'non-places' (a term introduced by French anthropologist Marc Auge) are reflected in the uses and the study of English. Contributions are expected from linguists, literary scholars, cultural studies experts and historians, and several world-renowned figures have been invited to give keynote talks.
