John O. Olvera '92 (history and sociology), M.Ed. '97, received the Patricia Behring Teacher of the Year Award from the Michigan Historical Society. The award is given to teachers who show exemplary commitment to helping students develop an interest in history through participation in National History Day. Olvera teaches at Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy in Saginaw, Michigan.
