Loyola University New Orleans Neuro Camp

Over the course of a week, you will cycle through demonstrations and lab activities in the departments of Psychological Sciences (neuroanatomy and brain imaging), Biological Sciences (comparative animal behavior), and Physics (bioelectricity). You will also learn some basic programming skills. This is also the perfect opportunity to learn more about Loyola's interdisciplinary major in neuroscience! The camp fee is $100 for the week, and participants receive a camp t-shirt and one college credit. This program is only open to rising Juniors and Seniors. Applications from underrepresented groups are especially encouraged.

June 12 - 17, 2023

Students will:

  • Develop a general understanding of laboratory techniques
  • Apply those techniques in real lab settings with college faculty
  • Earn a college credit (for Introduction to the Sciences)
  • Integrate their experience into a presentation on their future career goals

This is the only camp of its kind in the area and is a rare opportunity to explore neuroscience and earn college credit.

Neuro Camp Schedule:

Each weekday consists of a morning session (10am – 12pm) and an afternoon session (1pm – 3pm). Students provide their own lunch.

The final Saturday morning includes student presentations and brunch reception open to families.
