A time to explore!

Many students enter college interested in taking a range of classes before officially declaring a major. Loyola University New Orleans offers the Exploratory Studies Program where students work on general degree-requirements while exploring courses in a variety of disciplines.

Uncertain about your Major? Discover your strengths & interests during Loyola Core classes and potential Majors before declaring a course of study. You can explore for up to 4 semesters or 55 credits before committing to a degree. Exploratory Studies students will be connected with a dedicated academic advisor in the Pan-American Life Student Success Center who is well-equipped to help them discern their goals and interests while staying on track for graduation.
