The John Biguenet Distinguished Alumni Award

 

The John Biguenet Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes a Loyola English graduate who, through their professional accomplishments, has distinguished themself and the department. Named after a Loyola English alumnus, beloved professor, and former department chair, this award honors alumni who have applied their Loyola English education to make significant contributions to their chosen field, creative endeavor,and/or their local community. Recipients are honored annually at the departmental awards ceremony.

Award Criteria

  • The recipient must be a graduate of Loyola’s Department of English
  • The recipient should have a significant record of achievement in their chosen field, creative endeavor, and/or local community
  • The recipient should demonstrate capacity for further professional or creative success
  • The recipient must be in attendance at the designated ceremony in order to receive the award

 

Nomination Process

Nominations may be submitted at any time throughout the year. Only nominations made by December 1st will be considered for the following spring’s award. A committee comprised of current English faculty and students will oversee the selection; their deliberations will be kept in confidence, and award winners and their nominators will be notified of the results. Self nominations are permitted.
