Each year the English department recognizes English majors who excel in each our three major tracks: Literature, Writing, and Film & Digital Media. This year the department recognizes the following juniors:

Dawson Gaillard Writing Awards 2020

Each year the English department holds writing competitions in expository and creative writing. The competitions are open to all Loyola students, and the winners are determined by a committee of English department faculty. These awards honor the memory of former English faculty member and chairperson, Dr. Dawson Gaillard, whose dedication to the teaching of writing was a particular inspiration to both her students and her colleagues.
