Martin Pousson received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English/Writing from Loyola University and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Writing from Columbia University. He has taught at Rutgers University in New Jersey, at Columbia University in New York, and at Loyola University New Orleans. His first novel, No Place, Louisiana, was published by Riverhead Books in 2002 and was a finalist for the John Gardner Award in fiction. His first collection of poetry, Sugar, was published by Suspect Thoughts Press in 2005 and was a finalist for the Lambda Literary Award. His stories, essays, and poems have appeared in Epoch, Icon, Parnassus, Transfer, The Louisiana Review, The New Delta Review, and Cimarron Review. His poems have also been anthologized in Intersection and in Love, Bourbon Street.  He is now at work on his second novel, The Nerves.
