Kate Adams elected to executive committee of the Modern Language Association

Chair of the Department of English, Dr. Kate Adams was elected to the executive committee of the Modern Language Association, representing the Division of Teaching Writing, an honor that stemmed from her impressive scholarship record.

Dr. Adams recently completed the book, After the Vote Was Won: The Later Achievements of Fifteen Suffragists  (co-authored with Michael L. Keene). McFarland Press, expected summer 2010.

In March, Dr. Adams spoke at the Conference on College Composition and Communication in Louisville and in May will speak at The Rhetoric Society of America in Minneapolis.  Dr. Adams has recently been asked to stand for election to the position of Executive Committee Member of the Conference on College Composition and Communication. 

Dr. Adams is currently writing two books, one about iconic images of women from the early twentieth century and one about women in circuses.
