Each year the English department recognizes English majors who excel in each of our three major tracks: Literature, Writing, and Film & Digital Media. Here are those awarding-winning juniors:

Dawson Gaillard Writing Awards 2023

Each year the English department holds writing competitions in expository and creative writing. The competitions are open to all Loyola students, and the winners are determined by a committee of English department faculty. These awards honor the memory of former English faculty member and chairperson, Dr. Dawson Gaillard, whose dedication to the teaching of writing was a particular inspiration to both her students and her colleagues.

The Dawson Gaillard Award for Poetry goes to Blair Law.	The Dawson Gaillard Award for Fiction goes to Chloe Evans.	The Dawson Gaillard Award for Best Essay goes to Mary Bennett.	The Dawson Gaillard Award for Best Script goes to Anya Levicki.
