- 6 to 7 p.m., with a reception to follow in the Honors Lounge, Monroe Hall, 5th floor.

John T. Sebastian is an associate professor in the Department of English and past director of the University Honors Program. His lecture, “All I Really Needed to Know I Learned from the Vikings,” will continue the Last Lecture tradition in the University Honors Program.
In 2007, Professor Randy Pausch of Carnegie Mellon University gave new meaning to this tradition by discussing his childhood dreams in his “Last Lecture,” which was made more poignant by his ongoing battle against pancreatic cancer. Pausch’s lecture became a YouTube sensation and a best-selling book before he succumbed to the disease in summer 2008.
