Emmanuel David who graduated from Loyola University in 2003 cum laude with a double major in Sociology and Communications received his Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Colorado. Emmanuel's dissertation was entitled "Women of the Storm: Gender, Social Movements, and Cultural Memory Following Hurricane Katrina." Emmanual has been offered a postion with Villanova University, just outside of Philadelphia, in the Sociology Department beginning in the Fall 2010.
